1. Licence
SD Code is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may install it on any number of computers that you own or control, and use it to build any kind of software, including commercial products.
You may not:
- sell, rent or sublicense SD Code as a standalone product;
- redistribute modified builds under the SD Code name or branding without written permission;
- remove or alter copyright, attribution or version notices;
- use the software to break the law or to infringe the rights of others.
2. No warranty
SD Code is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The author does not warrant that the software will be error free or uninterrupted, or that it will meet your requirements.
3. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, SD Code. This includes loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. You are responsible for keeping backups of your work; SD Code performs real file operations and a mistaken delete or Git discard is a real delete or discard.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the code and files you open in SD Code. The application does not upload, copy or licence your content to anyone. Nothing in these terms gives the author any rights over your work.
5. Third-party components
SD Code is built with open source components, including Electron, React, Monaco Editor, xterm.js, Chokidar, ws and AdmZip. Those components remain under their own licences, which are respected in the distributed application. SD Code is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft. “Visual Studio Code” is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation and is referenced only descriptively.
6. Updates and support
Updates are provided at the author’s discretion. There is no guaranteed support level or response time, although support email is answered as time allows. The author may change or discontinue features in future versions.
7. Your responsibilities
- Keep independent backups of important work.
- Verify that any runtime, interpreter or tool you install comes from a trustworthy source.
- Review commands and Git operations before running them; SD Code executes exactly what you ask.
- Treat extension packages with the same care you would treat any third-party file.
8. Website use
This site is provided for information and downloads. You may link to any page. Automated scraping that degrades the service, or attempts to disrupt it, are not permitted.
9. Governing terms
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
